I took my first Bikram class in June 2002 and was instantly hooked. It didn’t take long before I realized that I not only wanted to practice this yoga for the rest of my life; I wanted to teach it others. I attended teacher training in Spring 2006 and have enjoyed teaching around the world since then. My favorite part of teaching is learning the reasons that bring students in the door and onto the mat. Everyone has a story, and I have great respect for everyone who enters the room. As I say often in class: It’s never easy, but always worth it.
The best advice I can give for a Bikram class is: come hydrated, keep an open mind and keep coming back. You’ll be amazed at the changes you see, from the inside out. Whether you’re seeking mental clarity, physical strength, peace of mind, more flexibility, emotional stability… the list goes on… I firmly believe that everything you need, and maybe some things you didn’t even know you needed, is available to you inside the hot room and on your mat.
